The show will go on! 32 years!!! The Niantic Light Parade will be held but with some major changes in store due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the first time in its history, the parade will not take place on Main Street, but instead will be held at McCook Point Park, according to a statement. Participant floats will be on display in the upper part of McCook Point Park while viewers will drive through the park to view the floats.
People coming to view the floats will be allowed into the park via the main entrance beginning at 5 p.m. Anyone coming to view the floats must be in a vehicle; no pedestrians will be allowed for this event.
There is no entry fee, but collections for Care and Share will be accepted. Organizers said they hope that the drive-through format for this year will "allow your family to enjoy this fun holiday tradition from their car with floats, music and lights galore to kick-off the holiday season in brilliant style."
