Bob Curry
for East Lyme Treasurer

Robert Curry is a seasoned financial professional and a nearly 40-year East Lyme taxpayer, bringing extensive expertise in municipal finance to his candidacy for Town Treasurer. He holds an MBA from the University of New Haven and a BS in Accounting from CCSU, and is a Certified Professional Finance Officer through the Government Finance Officers Association.

Over his 40-year career, Robert has served as Finance Director, Treasurer, and IT Director in the cities of Meriden and New Britain, overseeing budgets, audits, and large-scale ERP system implementations. His leadership earned cities numerous Certificates of Achievement for Annual Financial Reports (CAFRs) and multiple credit rating upgrades, and he was elected President of the Connecticut Government Finance Officers Association by his peers. Currently, he serves as Chairman of the East Lyme Pension Board.

Beyond his professional work, Robert is active in the community, serving as Treasurer for the Alliance for Living and participating in the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He is committed to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and accountability, with a vision for smart investments that enhance the town’s resources and infrastructure while maintaining vital services. Robert believes in open communication with residents and making financial decisions that reflect the town’s shared values and long-term goals.
