On Thursday January 8, 2026, the East Lyme Democratic Town Committee held a caucus at the Niantic Community Center to elect a slate of members to serve from 2026-2028.

In addition, the Democrats attending the caucus passed an amendment to the By Laws of the ELDTC codifying the status of Associate Members. This new Associate Member designation allows for Democratic voters from East Lyme to attend ELDTC meetings, participate in events and provide support to the organization but not to have an actual vote, as full members do. Associate members are a welcome addition that provides an additional level of support and input for our group, especially for those who are new to community engagement or politics and just want to learn more about our group and our ELDTC activities.

In total, 34 full members were selected to serve as Full Members of ELDTC for the 2026-28 term. Congratulations to all who participated!
